An environmentally - friendly product
By its very nature corrugated board is a superb environmentally–friendly product. It’s manufactured from approximately 70% virgin fibre pulp (produced under FSC certification) which consists of forest thinnings and waste from sawmills. The bulk of the tree goes to commercial applications such as construction and furniture making. The other 30% of the raw pulp material is from recycled fibre.
Recyclable and biodegradable
When it’s time to dispose of the corrugated box or container it’s fully recyclable and biodegradable – right down to the inks we use for printing company logos etc. Corrugated cardboard currently has a recycling rate of 84% in the UK. That’s the highest recycling rate of any packaging material in the UK. As a direct result, every four months an area the size of Greater London is saved from landfill. For more information visit

New products mean less waste
The new substrates we produce are thinner in calliper and have logistical and storage benefits – reducing vehicle movements and thereby carbon dioxide emissions. Encase corrugated manufacturing plants are totally CFC free and manufacture to the latest ISO environmental standards,
Optimising energy usage
We have regular energy reviews at all our facilities and are working hard to optimise our delivery systems so our customers still get what they want when they want it, but without incurring unnecessary cost to the environment. This obviously includes reviewing vehicle fill, journey planning, and the efficiency of the vehicles themselves.
